After some serious renovations on the “Planar Structures Model” I gave the structure new life as a nature center. Sitting deep in the woods the structure is now serving as a viewing platform and ranger station. The elevated road helps keep the station open through harsh snows and tree falls as well as keep the traffic from having a greater impact on the national park. In addition to providing many open observation decks and a modest library the installation also serves as a landing pad for Hiker Evacuation Helicopters. By providing near-by helicopters to the dangerous wilderness, this installation will help get injured hikers to hospitals.
This project was part of the Visual Communications course and was our introduction to modeling and rendering software.
